Trelawny League Division Three
LANNER FC 4 TROON AFC RESERVES 1
On arrival which is up a narrow lane opposite the Coppice Inn we found the ground.
Both teams were there and ready to go for the 2.30pm kick off in front of a crowd of 47 people, with Lanner sitting at the top of the Division and Troon at the bottom, this looked on paper like a comfortable game for the homesters as they had beaten Troon 6-2 at their place only a month ago.
The game kicked off and had a few chances in the first half, Lanner striking the crossbar, whilst the visitors with a young side possibly had 2 very good efforts and could well have gone in at half time in front.
The Second Half saw Lanner straight on the front foot, on 47 minutes, a long free kick from the home keeper found out LIAM TAYLOR who fired his side in to a 1-0 lead.
On 54 minutes, Lanner doubled their lead, as they had a free kick just outside the area, the Lanner Assistant Referee said he will score as he'd been doing this in training all week. Up stepped JOSH IRESON and slotted it round the wall and into the net.
From Troon's kick off, they lost the ball and Lanner forced a corner on the right hand side, the corner was swung in for LIAM TAYLOR to head in to make it 3-0.
Troon didnt give up and pressed forward and forced the home keeper in to a couple of saves but got a reward on 74 minutes when OSCAR JOHNS broke down the right hand side and slotted the ball in to the bottom far corner of the net.
As Troon pressed forward this left gaps at the back and after 81 minutes, a ball from the right was headed home by OWEN FORD to head in.
A good match which was a good advertisement for the Trelawny League by both clubs in a game that was played in the right spirit.
