COLLINS DUO HEADS THE SAINTS INTO THE NEXT ROUND

 Trelawny League Divisional Cup

MOUNT AMBROSE FC 1 ST KEVERNE FC 4

When the fixtures were released I looked to visit St Keverne FC and offered to do their first ever programme v Mount Ambrose in a league match, bjt then the league cup was drawn and the two clubs were drawn against each other but the opposite way round, so I contacted Mount Ambrose to ask if they'd like a first ever programme to which they were delighted.

Word was spread via social media etc and info came in from both clubs and programme sales went across the world to USA and Germany as well as all over the uk.

On the morning of the game in Hayle, the rain lashed down and Mounts manager Franco rang me and I feared the worse of the game was off, but it was fine. Then groundhopper from Norfolk Alan North contacted me for the ground address and to reserve him a programme.

Before the game a chap from Mount Ambrose donated £20 and Alan donated £5 for a programme. the game kicked off whilst shawn my son with autism got in to his commentary code. The ball flashed in to the bushes and off went Shawn to fetch them.

After just 12 minutes, a long free kick from around the halfway line was headed in to the net by the towering SAM COLLINS to put the visitors in front. The Saints pressed forward in the swirling wind as the sun was out but on 23 minutes they doubled their advantage, when a loose ball fell at the edge of the area for JAMES KAYE to hammer home.

The Mounts then woke up and began to attack, as up to then then hadnt created anything or forced the visiting keeper in to action, but on 37 minutes, CONNOR CLARK held off his defender and fired home deep in to the corner of the net to reduce the arrears.

After half time, both teams pressed forward and it really looked like next goal wins and on 53 minutes, sub STEPHEN JORY rose to head the visitors back in to a two goal lead.

The homesters pressed forward and several attempts went close, which would have set up a exciting ending to the tie, but the visitors wrapped the tie up in the 88th minutes, when SAM COLLINS headed home following a free kick.

On the final whistle Norfolk based hopper  Alan North kindly donated another £20, in the pub after Mount Ambrose donated £60 for the programmes and had a whip round, so with programmes sold etc the total raised from the match is standing at £256.68p with St Keverne FC also chipping in £30 donation for their programmes.

Id like to thank everyone who has ordered/bought donated etc to the CHILDENS BEREAVEMENT CENTRE.

The running total at present stands at a amazing £3,487.96p
