VINEYARD CLIP THE ROBINS WINGS

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Division Three

TRENT VINEYARD FC 2 EAST LEAKE ROBINS RESERVES FC 1

Well how things alter in a few daysas I went to award the league sponsors Team of the month to Trent Vineyard, looking forward to going to Cilwell Olympia as i'd not seen a full match there, only 3/4 of a friendly match, but then I found out that that venue was out of use and that Vineyard where now playing at Carlton Le Willowws Academy and the facilities there surprised me with good looking changing rooms, a superb 4g pitch that was railed and some benches for supporters to sit on.

East Leake Robins Reserves only had one player over the age of 19 in their squad and that was their goalkeeper, whilst Vineyard had a few players who have been with their club for a few years now.

As the match kicked off, I was joined by Martyn McHale, a regualr friend who attends my mini hop, funny enough the next one is at East Leaake Robins 1st team v AC United on Saturday 5th April with a 3pm kick off.

Both sides looked quick, but after just 4 minutes, a ball played from the left was met by Trentvine's BARNEY DUFFY who headed downwards in to the net.

The young Robins responded well and had a couple of chances but Trent looked dangerous going forward. Both keepers were keeping the score in tact.

The Second Half saw Vineyard come out foring and in the 51st minute, a corner from the right side, found its way to COURTNEY SAMUELS to slide the ball home to make it 2-0.

Vineyard seemed to step up a gear and pressed forward with several shots just shaving past the post and the visiting keeper punching the ball away as well as saving and catching the ball.

The vistors began to come back in to the game and tested the home keeper and had chances of their own.

During injury time, from a left sided corner, ZAK MADDEN headed home and just before the final whistle, a belter of a shot by the vissitors had the home keeper at full stretch to puch over the crossbar.

A really good match with two teams that wanted to play football without any grumbling and was played in a good natured fashion.

I must mention the match referee HARRY WRIGHT who has been on the NSL fromm Exeter who has been studying up here in Nottingham who I felt had a great match.

Many people know that this a charity blog and this year, we have chosen AUTISM AWARENESS, with the running total standing at £222.75p, but there have been pledges coming in, if you would like to donate no matter how small, you can make a bank transfer as follows:
