EUROSOCCER NOTTINGHAMSHIRE SENIOR LEAGUE : DEVELOPMENT SPRING DIVISION 1
ARNOLD TOWN DEVELOPMENT 2 BEAUFORT UNITED 6
ATT: 20
A unusual night out for me is a Thursday, but with not mbeing well most the season and feeling a bit better now, its great to get some football watching back at the side mof the pitch on a lovely sunny evening, though went the sun set, it was damn cold.
Nice to meet tonights match official Sean Conneally who in my opinion had a very good match and he got me both teamsheets well before kick off.
I wasnt too sure what to expect this evening, as both teams have struggled to gain a win and with Arnold coming off a 22-0 loss on Saturday against table toppers Quorn Methodists, it really was about how they would react.
So off to the half way line on my mobility scooter and camera at the ready, whilst the match kicked off and it was the visitors having the first few chances, so it came as no surprise when they opened the scoring on just 10 minutes, when a cross from the left side was tapped home by DILLION BOTTONMORE.
This inspired the visitors and they pressed forward missing quite a few good chances, plus the home keeper was in fine form. On to the 27th minute and Beaufort had doubled their lead through a half volley by BENJAMIN HAY from just outside the penalty area.
So it was 0-2 at the half time break, as the home support of dads were at wonder of how their sons would get back in to this game. Infact straight from the kick off, the home faithful were rewarded, when the visiting keeper short played a ball out to his defender but it didnt reach and JOE MOULD reduced the arrears.
On the hour, Arnold were back level, after being awarded a free kick around thirty yards from goal, up stepped ALEX COLE to smash the ball past everyone to make it 2-2..could the Young Eagles go on to turn this game around, well the answer was no, as straight from kick off, the ball was played out to the right wing and found DILLION BOTTONMORE who cut in and curled the ball past the home keeper to restore his sides lead.
Arnold tried to go forward but so did United and it was United who looked o0ne pace quicker than the home side and after 71 minutes, it was the home side who gave LEO WATTS time to place the ball in to the back of the Arnold net to make it 4-2 to Beaufort.
Within minutes, it became 5-2 to the visitors when that man LEO WATTS chipped the home keeper from outside the area, it was now beginning to look like how many the visiting team wouold score, but to the homesters credit they did keep battling, but on 87 minutes, they could do little when a corner from the right hand side, made its way to the back post and ELLIS BURTON just had to tap the ball in to make it a final score of 6-2 to Beaufort United.
