LAST MINUTE CHANGE SEES LAST MINUTE GAME

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Division Three

PASS MOVE GRIN RESERVES 8 EASTWOOD & KIMBERLEY FC 0

Woke up with the plan of going to Bulwell Hll Park for 2 reasons, one Id never been there to see a match and secondly Id never seen Pass Move Grin FC and their first team were at home v FC Cavaliers, but checking on the fixture list, I saw that kicking off a hour earlier were their reserves v Eastwood & Kimberley FC so 2 new teams that Id not seen, so a added bonus that I could watch till half time of the 3rd division match, then watch the full Division One game.

On arrival where you park in a golf club car park which houses the changing rooms but also a bar and cafe, as the surroundings are set in a country park where there are lots of walkers etc.

I drifted through the trees and in front of me were 2 pitches, where on the right was the reserve pitch, where both PMG Reserves and Eastwood & Kimberley were warming up at 1.45pm and on the left side was a larger main itch where all the PMG first team were meeting up and I was greeted by club chair Wes Burke and the manager Serg.

I had got the match teamsheets from the 2pm kick off when there was some muttering from over from the 1st team pitch and I was approached as FC Cavaliers had rung to say that they were not attending due to lack of players, which was a disappointment to the home side. So the 3pm kick off match was off, but the 2pm kick off didnt have a referee, so I asked both clubs if they could put the kick off time back and if the referee from the 3pm game agreed he could ref the 2pm game and kick off when he was ready, all was in agreeance and happy with this decision. Soon arrived Ref Nathan George who I explained the situation to and he was happy and soon was agreed on a 2.15pm kick off.

The Game kicked off and Eastwood had the first chance but the effort was placed well wide of the net, but on 6 minutes from the edge of the box LAMIN MANNEH fore the ball low deep in to the net, then my phone went to tell me that the 3pm game I was heading to was off, but I already knew that as I was there and on 7 minutes whilst still on the phone,  ELLIOTT IDIAGHE volleyed the ball over the keeper to make it 2-0.

Eastwood looked stunned after conceding 2 goals in a matter of a minute, but started to win a few of the midfield battles but playing with one player upfront, the ball kept coming back to them and the 2 PMG wingers were making life hard for them pushing them back and on 27 minutes, it came as no surprise when LAMIN MANNEH netted his second and his sides third of the game.

On 31 minutes it became 4-0 when AJAMADU MANYAN CISSE netted and things began to start to look worse on 38 minutes when ELLIOTT IDIAGHE made it 5-0. Eastwood were now looking for the half time clock to tick down, but in the 43rd minute, they got a corner, the corner was defended and a long ball was played out to the right wing, where the winger chipped and ELLIOTT IDIAGHE's header over the keeper saw him score his hat trick and take his side in to a 6-0 half time lead.

At half time break I will be honest, I was wondering what sort of score this could turn out to be, but a few subs were made by both teams and it slowed the game down, but after 48 minutes LAMIN MANNEH got in with his hat trick and made it 7-0. Eastwood then had their best spell of the game and both sides were equal and both creating chances,as the visitors changed formation and through 2 up front and after  a poor first half they showed a good defence as time went on in the half, but with tired legs in the 87th minute, SHEA THOMPSON-HARRIS who was making his last appearance for the homesters netted to make it 8-0.

I must mention Nathan George who I felt had a good match in the middle letting the game flow when he could, it was a good fair match played in good spirit, very difficult to count the crowd as in the first half I count 73 watching but some of those could have been people walking through the country park.

With the 8 goals scored today it now takes the running total for the Childrens Bereavement Centre to a massive £3,215.00

Whilst going down to Cornwall in a few weeks time, I am editing 2 programmes for 2 clubs that have never had a programme before, the more I get ordered and sold, the more the charity makes, each prrogramme is £2 plus £1.50 for both to be posted so £5.50 in total for a Lanner FC and a St Keverne  FC programme. Please contact me on hornby60uk@yahoo.co.uk for more details. This seasons charity is The Childrens Bereavement Centre, a charity close to my heart having lost a daughter still birth and then losing my 5 day old grandson
