MUIR SETTLES VICS POINTS WITH ONLY ON TARGET SHOT

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Premier Division

BORROWASH VICTORIA AFC 1 RADCLIFFE OLYMPIC FC 0

Att: 43

Well Borrowash made their debut in the Notts Senior League hosting promoted Radcliffe Olympic after they had won the Division One Championship last season. Id not been to the Vics ground for some 20 years and not seen the Vics Chair Alan Ure for some seasons.

On arrival I soon got the teamsheets from the late change of referee as Adrian Ford was now the man in the middle.

Borrowash's main kit sponsor arrived and wanted some photos taking of his board at the side of the pitch and with him with the club.

I then took my place in the stand where there was a little breeze so it wasnt as hot as on the pitch. The game kicked off and Shawn was straight in to full flow as the ball boy, but he hadnt ever come across bramble like this at the side of the stand and the highlight of the first half was him looking for a missing ball and his head disappearing amongst the bramble bush and hearing him getting spiked by the thorns, even one chap shouted out to him, bring me some blackberries back please.

My friend Herbie rang me at half time to ask what the game was like and I had to honest with him as neither goalkeeper had made a save or even touch the ball.

The Second Half started and both teams were cancelling each out with the ball going from end to end only to be cleared by both defences, but on 61 minutes as the Vics poured forward a player was bought down, up stepped DYLAN MUIR who fired through the Olympic wall to put his side in to a 1-0 lead.

The game continued and so did shawn finding 2 footballs at the back of the stand and the Borrowash keeper touched the ball twice, when he had to pop in to the overgrown field behind the goal to fetch it.

Whilst going down to Cornwall in a few weeks time, I am editing 2 programmes for 2 clubs that have never had a programme before, the more I get ordered and sold, the more the charity makes, each prrogramme is £2 plus £1.50 for both to be posted so £5.50 in total for a Lanner FC and a St Keverne  FC programme. Please contact me on hornby60uk@yahoo.co.uk for more details. This seasons charity is The Childrens Bereavement Centre, a charity close to my heart having lost a daughter still birth and then losing my 5 day old grandson
